Dalle de Verre in Mosaics with Verdiano Marzi – NEW!

Maestro Verdiano Marzi returns to CMS for a NEW 5-day workshop where students explore incorporating transparent Dalle de Verre material into a 2-dimensional mosaic.  Unlike a mosaic made of smalti or stone (which reflect light) or Dalle de Verre panels (through which light travels to create the image), this unique course combines the Dalle material with the mosaic process.  This workshop will teach students to truly understand how to combine and manipulate different materials and light for fascinating effects.  Infusing transparent glass into a mosaic has its own rewards, challenges and nuances and Maestro Marzi happily shares his passion for the artistic possibilities of adding the Dalle de Verre material into your work and expanding your mosaic vocabulary.

Registered students will be contacted prior to class with information about the cartoon preparation.

Students should bring heavy-duty work gloves, a notebook and pencil. The workshop price includes materials and use of CMS tools.

Prerequisites: Mosaic I , Mosaic II , Hammer & Hardie Workshop, and Mosaic III, or by permission.
