In this fun one-day workshop, students learn the technique of incorporating plaster into their mosaic work. Plaster surfaces create a unique contrast from surrounding materials in texture and a wide variety of color. Its application can range from a portion of the subject (i.e., the face of a figure) to a background element. Students create two 4×4 inch pieces using plaster with smalti and other studio elements to learn necessary steps and techniques of pouring, pigmenting, painting and the proper treatment of the plaster this process.

All materials are included. Prerequisite: Mosaic I (was Intro to Mosaics I).
